frequently asked questions.
because we’d hate for you to be up all night thinking about tampons
i have a question about ohne tampons
what is the ingredients in an ohne tampon?
100% Organic Cotton. And (literally) nothing else – we’ve got you covered. Companies aren’t required to state what their tampons are made of, but we believe in transparency (and, besides, we’ve got nothing to hide), so our tampons are made of 100% organic cotton. And that’s it.
what’s so special about an ohne tampon?
Unlike your average tampon brand, ohne tampons don’t contain synthetic fibres, chemical additives, fragrance, dyes, chlorine bleach, residues of pesticides or herbicides. We’re being loud and proud about providing 100% organic cotton tampons that have a superior leak protection, they’re hypoallergenic, unscented and biodegradable.
what absorbency levels do ohne tampons offer?
ohne tampons follow the standard absorbency rules set by the FDA: Light tampons absorb up to 6 grams of liquid, regular 6-9g, super 9-12g, and super+ 12-15g. Choose an absorbency or a mix of everything to get you right through your period.
what applicator tampons does ohne offer?
ohne has cardboard applicator tampons which are 100% biodegradable (yes, even the wrapper!) We’re exploring BIO-plastic applicator tampons too – watch this space!
how often should I change my tampon?
The FDA recommends that you change your tampon every 4-8 hours. You should never leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours, and always make sure to use the lightest level of absorbency possible.
are ohne products certified organic?
Yes! All ohne feminine hygiene products are not only GOTS certified, but also certified under the Soil Association too.
do ohne tampons contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs)?
Our tampons are 100% organic cotton, and nothing else, which means they’re free of nasties and GMOs!
where are ohne tampons made?
ohne products are made in Europe and packed specifically for you in the UK. Our European partners have been manufacturing feminine products for decades, so they know their stuff.
can I flush ohne tampons?
While ohne tampons are biodegradable, we do not recommend flushing them as tampons can cause blockages in your plumbing or septic systems.

I have a question about CBD
what is CBD?
CBD full-spectrum extract comes from the flowers of the Hemp Cannabis Sativa plant – yup, the same plant as marijuana. Don’t worry though, CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in cannabis and THC is the only one of these that is psychoactive. To get technical for a second, our CBD is extracted using a supercritical Co2 extraction process. This allows a wide spectrum of cannabinoids to be safely stripped from the plant – independent of the parts that get you high.
how does it work?
There’s a system in the human body called the endocannabinoid system, which basically supports every important function we’ve got. It helps to regulate everything from pain and mood to things like appetite and sleep. Cannabinoids such as CBD work just like the endogenous cannabinoids naturally made by the human body, which evoke cannabinoid receptors found in various systems such as the gut, skin cells, reproductive organs, and the brain, helping to promote natural balance and skin healing.
CBD has been researched to have a relaxant and analgesic effects which have been known to help relax the muscles. CBD is also an adaptogen, which is a term used to describe plants and herbs that are capable of supporting your adrenal system to balance your hormones and help manage your stress levels. They help speed up or slow down the release of stress hormones, depending on what your body needs at a given time.
is CBD animal lover-friendly?
All ohne CBD products are gluten free, 100% vegan, and never (ever) tested on animals.
is CBD gonna get me high?
Nope! CBD is the non-psychoactive part of the cannabis plant. So, it will not get you high.
THC is the main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant, and is illegal in the UK. However, our CBD is extracted from low THC <0.1% hemp cannabis plants – which means our product only contains trace elements of THC, keeping in line with UK legal requirements.
is CBD legal?
CBD is perfectly legal. As long as a CBD product contains no more than 15% CBD and less than <0.1% THC, it is completely legal in the UK. So if you’re looking to gain some street cred, you’ve probably come to the wrong place – all these ingredients are totally above board.
ohne LTD do not sell or distribute any products that are in violation of the United Kingdom Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. It’s important to note here that, while holy cramp and yours, hormonally will both fit nicely in your hand luggage, it is your responsibility as the customer to ensure that you are in compliance with local legislation. This means if you’re planning to travel outside the UK with any CBD product, check it’s welcome (and not illegal) in the countries/cities you’re travelling to!
is CBD gonna save my life?
We’re all for alternative medicine here at ohne, and it’s pretty much up to you what you want to consider life saving (the love of your life, a good book, the first time you tried avocado…) but we can’t tell you that our CBD oil is going to work miracles. It’s best you think of holy cramp and/or yours, hormonally as the maraschino cherries atop your wellness cake. Our CBD products should not be considered a substitute for medication. holy cramp is there for you when your uterus has turned against you, while yours, hormonally is your trusty sidekick working to keep you balanced AF, everyday. It’s just plant synergy babe!
who makes our CBD?
We created our CBD products, holy cramp and yours, hormonally, in collaboration with Graces London, the pioneering brand who have been making CBD oils for more than 6 years.

how does holy cramp help period pain?
In simple terms, period pain is the shedding of the uterus lining. In order to accomplish this, the uterus muscles contract aggressively to compress the blood vessels lining the womb, preventing oxygen from reaching the uterus. In the uterus there are tissues which release chemicals that trigger pain pain when they’re deprived of oxygen. CBD has been found to have a relaxant and analgesic effects which have been known to help relax the muscles. If we can get those uterus muscles to chill out a bit – say, by using a few cheeky drops of holy cramp – the ‘cramping’ we experience as a result is going to be significantly reduced.
The essential oils in holy cramp not only have a bunch of therapeutic & healing properties in their own right, they are also known to work in conjunction with the CBD to help bind and enhance the overall effect it has on the cannabinoid receptors found all over the body.
what are the ingredients in holy cramp?
In addition to CBD, holy cramp is actually made with organic & essential oils and hemp extract.
The full ingredients list can be seen below:
INGREDIENTS: *Hempseed Oil (Cannabis Sativa), *Argan Oil (Argania Spinosa L) , *Evening Primrose Oil (Oenothera Biennis), *Lavender essential oil (Lavendula Augutifolia) , CBD Plant Extract (Cannabidiol), *Lemon essential oil (Citrus Limon) & *Lemongrass essential oil (Cymbapagan Citratus) Citral, Geraniol, Citronellol, Coumarin, Limonene, Linalool.
< 0.1% THC Allergens in bold. *Certified Organic Soil AssociationSee our CBD labs here for yours hormonally & holy cramp
why does holy cramp contain essential oils?
We’ve included essential oils in holy cramp because, not only do they have a bunch of therapeutic & healing properties in their own right, but they are also known to work in conjunction with the CBD to help bind and enhance the overall effect it has on the cannabinoid receptors found all over the body. Our amazing partner Graces London have been working with CBD and essential oils for more than 6 years, testing and learning about the best combinations for the ultimate chill.
Hemp seed oil is a natural superfood for the skin, argan oil and evening primrose oil work to keep your skin healthy and hydrated, with evening primrose oil also helping to regulate and balance your hormones. Lavender oil has been know to help with every kind of pain from muscular aches to emotional anxieties, lemon oil has got your back for improved circulation, mental health, and immune system, and lemongrass oil is antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial, and super hydrating.
how to use holy cramp
Before using holy cramp, do a patch test by popping a tiny drop on a small section of your skin to test for allergies. If you have a reaction, and this is just common sense, don’t use it again. Especially on or near your (very sensitive) vagina. If no reaction occurs, you’re good to go!
Start by using 2-3 drops either on your lower belly (roughly where your uterus is) or lower back – wherever the cramps are hitting you hardest. Alternatively, pop a few drops in a steaming bubble bath for ultimate relaxation points.
CBD works differently for different people, so you’ll find out what works best for you! ohne founders Leah and Nikki even pop a few drops onto their tampons before inserting them, to get the CBD as up close and personal to the source of the pain as possible. (Friendly reminder that holy cramp is a topical (read: for your skin) oil so we’re not recommending this method!)
holy cramp: the boring bit
Seek medical advice if pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. This product is not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease.
holy cramp is a cosmetic product containing essential oils, not intended for oral use so won’t make a very nice addition to your morning cuppa!

how does the CBD in yours, hormonally work to balance hormones?
The reproductive hormones naturally fluctuate throughout the menstrual cycle, but extraneous factors and medical conditions can all have an effect on your hormone production and levels. CBD is an adaptogen which, put simply, is a term used to describe plants and herbs that are capable of supporting your adrenal system to balance your hormones and help manage your stress levels. They help speed up or slow down the release of certain hormones, depending on what your body needs at a given time. CBD can help maintain balanced levels of the reproductive and sex hormones throughout the entire menstrual cycle.
what are the ingredients in yours, hormonally?
INGREDIENTS: Organic MCT Oil 49.5% (from Coconut), Organic Avocado Oil 49.5%, CBD Spectrum Extract 1% (THC <0.01%)
Allergens in bold.
how to use yours, hormonally
Start off using 2-3 drops and build up to a maximum of one full dropper (0.5ml) per day. Just pop the drops under your tongue and hold for 20 seconds for maximum absorption.
yours, hormonally: the boring bit
This product contains nuts (coconuts. Are they a ‘real’ nut? The FDA reckons so, anyway).
We love yours, hormonally and we’re sure you will too, but be careful who you’re sharing it with – it’s not for kids, so keep it out of their reach. This product is a food supplement, formulated for adults. Seek medical advice if pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication. Avoid contact with eyes. This product is not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Unless you plan on using up all of your CBD oil as fast as you possibly can (relatable), make sure you’re using it within one year of opening. Check the bottle for use by date, babe.

I have a question about shipping and delivery
How do I choose my delivery dates?
In the checkout stage, just tell us when your next period is due and how often it comes. We’ll take it from there. If you have no idea, that’s no problem, we’ll just deliver monthly and if you want to change it at any point, go ahead. It’s free and easy. And don’t sweat, you don’t need to be in – our boxes will go straight through your letterbox.
We’re usually pretty fast at getting your product to you. If you’re ordering the OHNE Anti-Teardrops you can expect your product within 2-7 days of placing your order.
Where do you ship?
We currently only ship within the UK. Watch this space though…we’ll be shipping to other locations soon!
Is shipping free?
Yes, shipping with is always on us! The only tiny exception to this is if you have a coupon code for a free box of tampons, then you only pay shipping.
Do you do next day delivery?
We don’t offer next day delivery (yet) but if you need your box urgently just hit us up on our customer service chat, or ping us an email – we’ll do our absolute best to get your products out to you as quickly as is physically possible (no charge!). Good news is we’ll take over the planning from here – so next month your box will be with you before you need it.
How do you ship OHNE subscriptions and products?
OHNE products come through the post with Royal Mail. Our largest box size fits through most standard UK letterboxes. If you have a particularly tiny letter box then the post lady (or gent) may knock, leave it in your safe place or deliver on an alternative date. Our delivery envelopes are pretty nondescript (just in case you don’t want to tell the office you’re on).
Where can I track my order?
Each order has a specific tracking number that you’ll be emailed after your order ships. If you no longer have access to that email, you can request your tracking information by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
My shipment hasn't arrived or it arrived damaged. What should I do?
Please email email@example.com and we’ll get things sorted out for you.
My tracking information says my order was delivered but I can’t find it. What do I do?
That’s annoying. Sometimes Royal Mail deliver to neighbours, leave parcels in your requested ‘safe place’ or leave a failed delivery note. If your OHNE box is nowhere to be seen, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll make sure you get your products.
I have a question about paying for my box and OHNE’s refund policy
When is my credit or debit card charged?
When you have a subscription with us we charge your card when you place your first order. For your next boxes, the subscription renewal (and payment date) is 8 days before your requested delivery date. This gives us time to make sure you’ve got everything you need in time for your period.
If you’re placing a one-off order we charge your card when you place your order and you can expect it within 2-7 days babe (we ship using Royal Mail Standard Delivery).
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. For international cards, simply add the international billing address you’d like to use to your profile and a UK address for shipping. We don’t ship internationally… yet!
My payment didn’t go through. What should I do?
That’s annoying. Send us message via live chat or Facebook or an email at email@example.com and we’ll try to sort it out together.
How do I update my billing address or card on file?
Simply visit your profile in My Account and adjust your billing address or preferred method of payment.
I'm unhappy with the product. Can I return my order for a refund?
We love our products and we think you will too, but we understand that relationships don’t always work out.
OHNE tampons: Given the intimate nature of our tampons, we
OHNE Anti-Teardrops CBD: If for any reason you’re not happy with our CBD oil, we are happy to offer a refund, or replacement as long as you return it to us within 28 working days. We deserve the right to refuse an exchange or refund if items are heavily used. Babe, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can help sort this out for you. If you’ve noticed that there’s something faulty with the product within 28 days of purchase make sure you let us know so we can make sure other items aren’t affected.
What is your cancellation policy?
We’ll be sorry to see you go, but we don’t have any contracts. You can cancel anytime before your subscription renewal date, free of charge. If you cancel after your renewal date, you’ll have one last box and then your subscription will automatically end – but you’ll always be welcome back!
Is my account secure?
How do you use or share my information?
My payment method is PayPal, why do I need to change it?
In the very early days of OHNE we accepted PayPal as a form of subscription payment. We have since retired this as PayPal forces a number of limitations on the way a subscription can be edited. For example, PayPal doesn’t let users change their Tampon Type from Naked to Applicator. They also don’t allow you to adjust your cycle frequency or change your delivery dates. So we encourage anyone still using PayPal to visit My Account and ‘View’ your subscription. Simply press the ‘Change Payment’ button to update your payment method to Credit or Debit card with Stripe. Now you can make the most of our full range of Edit features!
I have a question about the ohne mission
What is the ohne mission?
OHNE was born out of a passion for women’s health, an anger at the inequality and irony that sees women in the UK being sold unlabelled, pesticide filled products while women in many parts of the world can’t access any at all; a drive to make a real change to period stigma, and the simple conclusion that we are all in this together.
The fact that there are still young women today who have no idea what’s happening to them when their period first appears, let alone have access to period products, is no longer acceptable in our eyes. That’s why part of our mission is to help change this – join us?
Does the cost of my box include a donation to your mission?
For every month you subscribe to OHNE, we donate to a ‘Girls Programme’ in rural Zambia run by an inspiring NGO called The School Club Zambia.
This programme provides innovative health education to girls in schools in rural Zambia, improves hygiene through the building of new and clean toilet blocks, and helps girls learn how to make re-usable pads and learn to sew. We are working WITH girls to improve their ability to manage their menstruation comfortably, safely, and with dignity. Our vision? A world where girls can do anything, period or no period.
The best bit? Regular donations from your monthly box means a greater & more effective contribution, creating real sustainability for the girls included in the programmes.
Why don’t you donate tampons and pads to girls in developing countries?
Revolutionising period management in low-income areas is about more than just the availability of menstrual health products. It’s about affordability, insufficient information, ongoing social and hygiene taboos, a shortage of clean water and adequate sanitation, as well as waste disposal facilities.
This is why we support an organisation that does more than just distribute disposable menstrual health products….the School Club Zambia uses a unique three-tiered approach to help girls reach their full potential so that they can succeed in their communities.
Who receives the donated money?
The money is donated directly to the School Club Zambia – and then we show you the cool things they get up to. For us, it’s really important to support a grassroots social enterprise that recognises the need to work in partnership with local communities.
Where can I follow my donations?
We will continually be keeping you updated on The School Club Zambia’s progress on our website, Facebook page, and Instagram.
You can also visit our partner website http://www.schoolclubzambia.org/
I want to donate more!
We knew you’d be bloody awesome. Either refer a friend so they can get OHNE our mission too, or you can donate directly through our partner’s website at http://www.schoolclubzambia.org/shop/4585708081
